Live recording

ree

One of the joys of playing live is the possibility of something magical happening. I asked my dear friend David McAlmont if he'd like to come and sing a song with us at the Brighton show. He'd previously sung Mad As Snow with Kitchens back in the day, so I thought it a nice idea to reprise that experience. "Nice" - there's an understatement. David soundchecked with us and it was indeed lovely. Come the show he found something deep within that exploded into a soulful declaration that brought the house down. Had me in tears. What happened?! Inexplicable magic. I'm delighted that this version of Mad As Snow was recorded on the night so that we can now share it with everyone. Of course that chemistry wouldn't have occurred without the swirling shimmering guitars of Julian Swales and the grounding deep pluck of Semay Wu's cello. Available as a digital download exclusively on my bandcamp page from December 5th. Not on Spotify or streaming services. There will also be a video available on YouTube filmed by Andrew Jubb. And there will be more recordings from these shows for release next year. Thanks so much to everyone who came and helped make this happen.
